Pennsylvania Turnpike tolls go up Sunday

Rates on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will increase again this year for the 12th straight year, starting at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5.

Under the 6% hike, a trip across the state will cost as much as $53.50. The toll increase — like previous annual increases — is required to meet escalating debt-service costs associated with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s contributions to the state for transit operations and funding for the Turnpike’s 10-year capital program, the agency said.
