SCRANTON -- The University of Scranton managed only nine points in the last 14 minutes of its season Wednesday night and was eliminated from the Landmark Conference women's basketball semifinals with a 47-40 loss to Catholic University.
Katarina Owunna scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead a balanced attack for the Cardinals (21-5).
Kelli Josephsen also had 11 rebounds to key a 48-39 advantage on the boards.
Sidney Jaques had 11 points, all in the first half, in her final game for the Lady Royals (16-10).
Erin Boggan added nine points and 11 rebounds.
Scranton shot just 7-for-28 (25.0 percent) in the second half.
After leading, 24-22, at the half, the Lady Royals fell behind, 35-31, when they went more than five minutes without a point.
Boggan led a brief recovery and eventually gave Scranton its final lead, 40-39, by tracking down her own loose rebound with 3:47 left.
Catholic scored the game's final eight points.
