The Dayton Air Strikers used a 40-point third quarter to run past the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Steamers, 132-127, Sunday afternoon in a Premier Basketball League game at the Lackawanna College Student Union.
Dayton used the win to move into a second-place tie in the Eastern Division with the Steamers at 4-5.
The Steamers led, 64-60, at halftime. The Air Strikers then took a 100-91 lead into the fourth quarter.
Avery Smith had 31 points and seven assists while William "Bo" Harris had 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead Dayton.
Rob Robinson led the Steamers with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Vinny Simpson added 20 points, seven rebounds and 14 assists.
The Steamers wound up with five players scoring in double figures.
Lionel Armstead, Darrion Griffin and Tyler Bullock had 17 points each while Kyle Robbins had 16 and Chris Commons had 12.
Griffin grabbed nine rebounds.
Robbins made eight of nine shots.
The Steamers and Air Strikers have a rematch Wednesday at 7:05 in Dayton.
