The Lackawanna College Marketing Club will present the first Falcon Music Fest Feb. 9, in the Mellow Theater on the Scranton campus. The band MiZ will be the featured act. Mile High Club will be the opening act. All proceeds go to the Lackawanna College Student-Athlete book program. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Falcon Music Fest is the brain child of the Lackawanna College Marketing Club. Club members recognized that economically disadvantaged student-athletes were struggling to purchase the text books needed to further their education. The proceeds will help to purchase text books that will be stored in a library where the student-athletes will have access to them.

MiZ is led by its founder, acoustic and electric guitar virtuoso and singer/songwriter Mike Mizwinski, who hails from northeastern Pa. The style of the band has been described as a fusion of folk, rock, bluegrass and blues.

Tickets can be purchased online at eTix.com or Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mellow Theater Box Office which is located at Angeli Hall at 501 Vine Street in Scranton. Tickets are general admission and cost $22.50.
