The SMG Community Outreach Group (COG) at Mohegan Sun Arena along with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins recently hosted Food Drives in support of the Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey.

Food donations were collected at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins game Nov. 16 and at the arena East Gate Entrance Nov. 17. Staff gathered and packaged over 45 boxes of collected goods including canned foods, dry foods, baby foods and diapers. Monetary donations were also made from tickets sold through a special Hurricane Sandy ticket package offered by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for their game Nov. 16. All donated items were delivered to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside, New Jersey.

The SMG Staff at Mohegan Sun Arena thanked all who came out to support this cause and offered a special thanks to Bonner Chevrolet in Kingston for their donation to assist with transportation of the donated items.
