The District 2-4 Class AAAA girls' basketball tournament field is set.

Lackawanna League Division 1 champion Abington Heights is the top seed and has the only bye when the tournament opens with quarterfinal action Thursday and Friday.

The defending champion Lady Comets are 18-4.

Delaware Valley and Wyoming Valley West will meet Thursday at 7 at Pittston Area in the first game of the entire District 2 basketball tournament. Other quarterfinal games start Friday and Saturday.

Wyoming Valley West, the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 champion, is 17-5 and the second seed.

Delaware Valley, the seventh seed, is 4-18 after going winless in league play.

Friday's semifinals have sixth-seeded Scranton (5-16) against third-seeded Wallenpaupack (13-8) at North Pocono at 7:30 and fourth-seeded Williamsport (9-12) against fifth-seeded Hazleton Area (8-14) at Berwick at 6 p.m.

Williamsport, the only District 4 Class AAAA team, competes through District 2, making it a regional tournament.

The semifinals are scheduled for February 28 and the final for March 2.

Abington Heights will meet the Williamsport-Hazleton Area winner in one semifinal.

The top two teams continue into state play.

Abington Heights defeated Williamsport, 46-42, in last year's final.
