SCRANTON – The city’s chief of police was returning from getting his hair cut Monday night when a suspicious man caught his attention.

The man, later identified as Jonathan J. Hill, 22, of Scranton, exited the back of Catalano’s Importing Co, 130 S. Main Ave., Scranton, at about 7:30 p.m. Hill then allegedly began urinating in the parking lot of the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., as the lot was actively being used by patrons attending a viewing, according to the criminal complaint.

Duffy identified himself as a police officer and took Hill into custody on one count of open lewdness. After a brief search, Duffy allegedly found a bag of suspected marijuana in Hill’s front pocket.

Hill was expected to be arraigned on one count each of open lewdness, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. No additional court records for Monday’s incident were available Tuesday afternoon.
