Marielle Thorsen scored 19 points and Mariah Schaeffer added 18 Monday night as Marywood University advanced to the Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball semifinals with a 68-60 victory over Cabrini College.

Allison Bruet scored seven points and joined Thorsen and Schaeffer among the dozen Marywood women's basketball players who have scored at least 1,000 career points.

The Pacers advanced to Wednesday's semifinals at top-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Cabrini used a 9-2 run to take a 41-40 lead with 10:25 left, but Marywood responded with seven straight points to move ahead to stay.

Thorsen's 3-pointer started a late 8-0 run that produced a 59-49 lead with 1:35 left.

Marywood (18-8) avenged an eight-point, regular-season loss with the victory.

Schaeffer had 10 rebounds and joined Maggie Presnal (12 points, 10 rebounds) with double-doubles.

Immaculata defeated Neumann, 60-45, to advance to Wednesday's semifinal at second-seeded Baptist Bible College.
