Meet Wilkes Universityâ??s New President on State of Pennsylvania on WVIA

University on the next all-new live State of Pennsylvania Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. on WVIA TV.
Northeastern Pennsylvania is welcoming several new college and university presidents. On the next State of Pennsylvania youâ??ll meet Dr. Patrick Leahy, the 6th president of Wilkes University and learn the universityâ??s fascinating history, which begun in 1933.
Before being appointed president of Wilkes, Dr. Leahy served as the executive vice president at The University of Scranton, where he has worked since 2004. Prior to joining The University of Scranton, Dr. Leahy was co-founder and president of The Business Affairs Forum, a 15,000-member distance learning community based in Ithaca, NY. He has worked as an investment officer at Allied Capital Corporation, as an account executive at Deluxe Corp., and as a development officer at Georgetown University.Leahy holds a doctor of education degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a dual masterâ??s degree from Cornell University
in Business Administration and Labor Relations, where he was a Fried Fellow, and a bachelorâ??s degree in English literature from Georgetown
University.
