SCRANTON -- Lower Dauphin converted three corner kicks to goals in the final 17 minutes Tuesday night to eliminate Abington Heights from the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class AAA girls soccer tournament.
Isabelle Clauss scored in the first half and Ally Christman connected in the second half twice rally the District 2 champion Lady Comets into ties in the first-round game at Memorial Stadium.
After Christman tied the game, Lower Dauphin took the game's final 15 shots to break away and advance to Saturday's state quarterfinals.
Two District 2 championship teams reached Saturday's quarterfinals with wins in the remaining games of the tripleheader at Memorial Stadium.
Christian Henry scored on a direct kick with 18:47 left in the first half and Troy Smith made 10 saves to lead Delaware Valley to a 1-0 victory over Central Bucks East in Class AAA boys.
Mountain View rolled over Williams Valley, 6-1, in Class A boys.
Two other District 2 teams advanced.
Scranton Prep topped Northwestern Lehigh, 3-0, in a Class AA girls game at Wilkes University.
Mountain View went to Williamsport and defeated Loyalsock, 1-0, in Class A girls.
