Elizabeth Marie Parks and James Michael McCabe were united in marriage on Aug. 11, 2012 at St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Monsignor Vincent Grimalia performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Walter and Christine Parks, Hanover Township. She is the granddaughter of Alexander and Rita Steckman, Hanover Township, and the late Robert and Evelyn Parks, Carbondale.
The groom is the son of James and Pamela McCabe, Denver, Pa. He is the grandson of Richard and Thelma Schleifer, Chadds Ford, Pa., and Margaret McCabe, Denver, Pa.
Presented in marriage by her parents, the bride was attended by her sister, Emily Parks, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride Danielle Conklin and Sara Schuch. Sister of the groom, Svetlana McCabe, was the junior bridesmaid. The flower girl was Olivia Rae Samson, niece and goddaughter of the bride. Her father, Rodney Samson, accompanied her down the aisle.
Brother of the groom, Shane McCabe, was the best man. Groomsmen were friends Michael Pasquini and Edward McCall.
A cocktail hour and reception were held after the ceremony at R&D Memories in Hanover Township. A bridal shower hosted by the maid of honor and bridesmaids was also held at R&D Memories. The rehearsal dinner, given by the parents of the bride, was held at Grotto Pizza, Edwardsville.
The bride is a 2009 magna cum laude graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, where she earned a joint degree in history and women's and gender studies. She is employed as a transfer admissions representative at Benedictine University, Springfield, Ill.
The groom is a 2009 graduate of King's College, Wilkes-Barre, where he earned a degree in mass communications. He serves as an assistant news director at WLDS/WEAI radio, Jacksonville, Ill.
The couple honeymooned in Connecticut and Maine. The newlyweds reside in Jacksonville, Ill.
