Individual tickets for the first three Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins' home playoff games went on sale Friday at the Mohegan Sun Arena box office and through Ticketmaster. Tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
The Penguins clinched their 10thstraight playoff appearance, the longest current streak in the American Hockey League. The playoff schedule and first opponent have not been determined.
Playoff ticket packages are available through the Penguins at (570) 208-PENS.
Abington Heights graduate Becky Burke finished second in the women's 3-point shooting at the College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships, leading into the men's NCAA Division 1 Final Four in New Orleans.
Burke recently completed a four-year career in which she scored more than 1,000 points for the University of Louisville. She was one of eight women chosen to participate in the 24thannual event.
Burke advanced through the first round by hitting 15 of her 3-point attempts. She led all shooters by connecting on 18 in the semifinals.
USC's Ashley Corral beat Burke in the final.
The Keystone State Games have been set for July 23-29 in the Hershey/Harrisburg area, followed by the Pennsylvania Senior Games Aug. 1-5.
More than 350,000 athletes have competed in the annual summer games during the last 30 years.
The games will include competition in archery, baseball, basketball, bowling, diving, fencing, field hockey 6v6, field hockey, ice hockey, judo, karate, lacrosse, masters swimming, soccer, soccer 7v7, softball, swimming, synchronized swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, tennis, track and field, weightlifting/powerlifting, wrestling, wrestling duals.
Registration is now open for gymnastics, which will be held separately in May.
More events being considered are handball, bocce, the Keystone Football Combine and 7v7 football passing competition.
