Scranton Lackawanna Industrial Building Company (SLIBCO), The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce‚??s industrial development affiliate, have completed steel erection on the $8.3 million Technology Incubator Facility in the Jessup Small Business Center, Jessup.

A topping out ceremony was held to commemorate the last steel beam being placed at the top of the building on Friday, Oct. 5. Guests and dignitaries signed the last steel beam before it was placed. The Lackawanna County Commissioners, Jessup and Archbald Boroughs and Valley View School District have been vital supporters of this project.

The Technology Incubator Facility will house technology related companies and provide business incubator space for start-up and expanding small business ventures in northeastern Pennsylvania. In addition, it is proposed that the new facility will house graduates of the Scranton Enterprise Center (SEC) Business Incubator program that are in need of additional space for their growing businesses.

The 45,000 square-foot, 1 story, glass and steel building will house 11 incubator offices ranging in size from 425 to 832 square feet. The building will also include 30,375 square feet of anchor tenant space, which can accommodate one to eight companies. Hemmler & Camayd are the project architects for the $8.3 million project and Sordoni Construction Services is the general contractor.

The Technology Incubator Facility will be available for tenants by April 2013.
