Teams that won two of the Wyoming Valley Conference's three divisions and reached a playoff for the third title are included in the District 2 Class AAA girls' basketball tournament.

Scranton Prep is the top seed from the Lackawanna League in a tournament that features WVC Division 2 champion Holy Redeemer, WVC Division 3 champion Nanticoke and WVC Division 1 second-half champ Pittston Area.

The bracket will be completed after tonight's Lackawanna League Qualifying Tournament game that will determine who takes the league's second and third seeds between Honesdale (18-5) and Valley View (12-10).

The District 2 Class AAA tournament starts Saturday with two doubleheaders.

At North Pocono, the Valley View/Honesdale winner will take on Crestwood (14-8) at 1 p.m. Scranton Prep (17-7) plays Pittston Area (17-6) at 2:45.

At Pittston Area, the Valley View/Honesdale winner will face Nanticoke (21-2) at 1 p.m. Holy Redeemer (14-8) and Dallas (13-7) play at 2:30.

The tournament continues with semifinals Feb. 29 that will determine the two state qualifiers and the participants in the March 3 final.

The Scranton Prep/Pittston Area game is in the same half of the bracket as Nanticoke.
