WILKES-BARRE — The Greater Wilkes-Barre Friendly Sons of St. Patrick 80th Anniversary dinner was held March 13, at Mohegan Pennsylvania, with more than 360 guests in attendance.
Jim Brogna of Allied Services was honored as Man of the Year. Brogna thanked the organization for the honor, his family for all their support, and his team at Allied Services for the work they do.
The Keynote speaker, Notre Dame all-time rushing touchdown leader and former NFL player Allen Pinkett, said he was thankful to be back in Wilkes-Barre and spoke on many topics, including his journey and career, NIL, the combine and draft process, and he also honored the late, great Notre Dame Coach Lou Holtz. Pinkett also fielded questions from the audience.
James Casey finished his year as president and made it a family affair by handing over the title to his cousin, Daniel Casey, who highlighted Jim Casey’s accomplishments. Dan Casey also shared the impact Jim Casey has had on his life, saying he’s been a role model to him since childhood.
The officers were elevated during the dinner: Jon Jurish to vice president; John Smulowitz, 2nd VP; Jim Crossin, 3rd VP; Joe Brennan, 4th VP; and newly elected 5th vice president, John Brennan.
