Wilkes University to host ‘Experience in Nursing’ on Friday, Nov. 3

WILKES-BARRE — Wilkes University will host high school students from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday for an “Experience in Nursing.”

High school juniors and seniors interested in a career in nursing will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and current students, tour the state-of-the-art clinical nursing simulation center and experience a mock nursing class.

The morning’s events, held in the Jean and Paul Adams Commons (JPAC) on the second floor of the Henry Student Center, will include:

9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. – Registration

9:30 a.m to 10 a.m. – Welcome

10 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Student/Alumni Panel/Q&A

11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Mini Resource & Informational Fair

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Lunch

The afternoon will feature tours of the Passan School of Nursing Clinical Nursing Simulation Center and a mock nursing class in Stark Learning Center (SLC) Room 275:

12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. – Tour and mock nursing class – SLC 275

1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. – Tour and mock nursing class – SLC 275
